I just wanted to thank those of you that did the Jan challenge! We have a winner of the $15 gift certificate to http://www.scrapfreak.com:
SAM
I love the fun mix of letters, as per the challenge, and the colors and patterns she chose. Look for the Feb challenge soon!
We already have almost 1000 hits to the blog but we want to see more takes on the Jan challenges! If you share your take on the challenge by posting a comment here or to the challenge post, we will enter you in for a chance to win a prize. At least on person will get a $15 gift certificate to an online SB store. We may do an extra RAK or two.
To help inspire you, here is another take on the challenge from the DT! Laura mixed two different kinds of chipboards for a fun look!
Today a couple of us ATL Peas got to play with the new American Crafts products before they have hit the shelves! We played with some new paper and their new 3D embellies – Details. Sadly, no new thickers yet, but we can’t wait!

How we wish we were going to CHA! But instead, like most of you, we are just entertaining ourselves with all the lovely sneak peeks! By now, I am sure you all have your personal favs, but in case you have not checked them all out, here are a few of our favorites!
American Crafts – www.americancrafts.typepad.com
Still a fav company for their great Thickers, AC has some cool new stuff coming out at CHA. We are excited about the new “Remarks” clear backed decorative stickers and journaling spots. Also their new “Details” 3-d embellies are adorable. The new lines of Thickers look great, as does their ribbons.

Making Memories 5th Avenue – http://www.makingmemories.typepad.com/ (jan 21st entry)
Okay, I am in LOVE with the black, green and blue products from this new line. There is also a red/yellow/black combo. The ribbons, journaling paper, patterned paper and embellies look sophisticated and modern. I can’t wait! I am glad to see this great follow up to their incredible Noteworthy line.
Chatterbox
While there are no real peeks out yet for Chatterbox, I can’t wait to see what they have! Glad they are back
Some other picks:
We are also interested in Tattered Angels new chipboard coming out (limited pics seemed to out), My Minds Eye (while some of us loved it, it does look a lot like their last lines) and MAMBI’s Modern Milan. And there are of course several that have no peeks yet – Basic Grey for one! I can’t wait to see their new releases!
Just a quick post to give a brief shout out to one of our favorite LSS’s – Scrap Chic Boutique.
Yes, the ATL Peas to crop at A’s once a month, but we also love to support our local shops (and we scrap enough that this is NOT an issue). This store is a funky little place located in Decatur. They tend to have a good selection of the latest products.
They announced their new 2008 DT today, and I am happy to say that a few of us made it, including LAURA who is now new to their team. You can check it out here: http://www.scrapchicboutique.typepad.com/
Don’t forget to post a LINK to your page on your favorite online gallery (such as 2P’s, photobucket, or where I post a lot http://www.scrapfreak.com). Just add a comment to the challenge post and include a link to your work. This way we can all see your fabulous work AND you will be entered into the drawing for goodies. One lucky winner will get a $15 gift certificate to http://www.scrapfreak.com. We may have a few small goodies for others!
More great takes on the Jan challenges by our DT!

Challenge 1 Krissy (front cover of a mini-albums she will be featuring for the next several challenges!)
Challenge 1 Sheila – a funny valentine card for her DH

This month is all about MIXING IT UP.
Jan Challenge #1- Product usage challenge:
Tired of having all those leftover letter stickers that you can’t use? Or chipboard letters? Well for this challenge, I want you to MIX IT UP. Play with your stickers, rubons and chipboard letters to create a title or sentiment. This is a great way to use up older product and can help you create a unique look!

Hello Kitty Love by Jessica

Above, you can see I used a mix of letter stickers & chipboard. Some of the chipboard was plain (raw) making it easier to alter with markers and paint. Doodle on your letter stickers and chipboard, or use a stamp. I also added stickers and rubons.
Jan Challenge #2 – Design Challenge:
You know how great a sophisticated top can look with simple jeans… well, in the theme of mixing it up, try this with your scrapbooking by mixing together two different styles. Adding in a more casual style along with more formal styles can keep your project from being too stuffy (or too silly). Mixing various styles can also be a great way to experiment with a new style!
Try mixing your usual style and one that you like but don’t always use. An easy way to do this is to mix together different products from product lines with different styles. For my Hello Kitty minialbum, I mixed together various products, playing with different looks such as elegant mixed with grunge. Mix some Love, Elsie with MM Noteworthy. Or Basic Grey with KI. You get the idea!

I promise more examples soon! Once you create your project (layout, card, altered item, minialbum, whatever you prefer!) be sure to link it in the comment section!
**I promise a cool RAK for at least one person to do our first challenge and link back to here! We would love to check out your work either on your blog or your favorite online gallery. **
